Waikato RiverCare is pleased to provide this final year report on the Mangawara Lagoon/Wetlands Project

As you can see from the photos, our plants continue to thrive. In October, our contractors NZ Biosecurity, completed a further round of vegetation control and maintenance within the planting zone using chemicals provided by Agpro Direct and they are currently on site doing another round of vegetation control.

Our Operations Manager has continued to actively monitor the site to ensure everything has progressed as planned. During the most recent visit, it was noted that the site is looking in a great condition and that the Gallagher fencing is performing well. In addition, a concrete sill will be added to the water outlet to protect the water levels.

Waikato Regional Council will continue to maintain the site next year with NZ Biosecurity gaining the contract to continue this mahi.

We will continue to keep an eye on this site as it is in close proximity to some of our other projects. As always, we are extremely grateful for Regen Waikato’s support of this special project.
